10 Great Songs By HATED Hard Rock Bands
1. My Way - Limp Bizkit
As Deadpool so eloquently put it back in 2016, Limp Bizkit's impact on music in the late 90's was nothing short of horrific.
With songs that were as poorly performed as they were written, frontman Fred Durst has often been cited as the reason why the entire nu metal genre as a whole came crashing down. While it's not an enviable position to defend Limp Bizkit, "My Way" is actually much better than any of the band's other musical abominations.
Sure, the melody behind the track is far from great, but the backing track shows the genuine talent behind Durst shining through. The guitar work from Wes Borland is amazing as he weaves a straight line through the entire song, while the production from DJ Lethal provides a great sonic space for the rest of the song to breathe.
Even for as for ear-grating as Durst can be at his finest hour, this song seems to be coming from a place of genuine anger rather than the typical childish whining of the band's other work.
There's no place for Limp Bizkit in rock circles anymore, but for a bygone relic of the times, "My Way" is the one track you could play straight through without wanting to habitually turn off your stereo.
