10 Great Songs By HATED Hard Rock Bands
3. I Am The Bullgod - Kid Rock
With a few years of hindsight, it feels like a mistake that we ever let Kid Rock become a rock god. His brand of rap and rock made for one of the more embarrassing career explosions of the last 20 years. Nowadays, he's been sticking to his country stuff, and the world is a much better place for it.
Though Devil Without a Cause set the world on fire in the late 90's, it didn't sit well with most once we realized it was a dumpster fire. While most of the record features some of the most infantile attempts at rap, "I Am The Bullgod" is the shining beam of light peaking through the darkness.
Where most of the other songs on the record feature virtually no hooks, this tune has a definite swagger perfect for the average hard rock fan to get behind. As opposed to the more doofy moments on the record, this song has a legitimate punch that makes it sound metal in some places.
The song is far from being one of the great rock anthems, but it is definitely the best thing that Kid Rock has ever produced that has his namesake genre attached to it.
