10 Great Songs On Otherwise Terrible Albums

4. Let Me Down - Limp Bizkit

Is there really anyone in 2021 who is holding up a torch for Limp Bizkit anymore? Despite some of the unintentional hilarity he has had as a filmmaker with the Fanatic, Fred Durst's grand vision for his nu metal outfit has been laughed out of the room for multiple decades at this point. As far as their lowest point, it's hard not to see Results May Vary as reaching for the absolute bottom of the barrel.

Aside from the wretched lyrics we've been known to hear from the guy who brought us works of literature like Nookie, these nu metal bros actually managed to scrape together a decent track with Let Me Down, without the help from guitarist Wes Borland no less. Though Borland's amazing talents were one of the few saving graces of the band, his replacement Mike Smith actually manages to hold his own, going for a more straight ahead rock and roll vibe than you might expect for nu metal.

While the lyrics from Durst aren't necessarily Shakespeare or anything, the basic subject matter of letting someone down is at least decent by his standards, being fairly suitable for this kind of angsty modern rock. Given that this would make for a decent single on any other album, it turns into a damn masterpiece when it fell into Limp Bizkit's hands.
