10 Great Songs That Never Made A Studio Album

8. New Perspective - Panic! At The Disco

Not unlike Paramore, Panic! At the Disco found themselves in a unenviable position at the end of the 2000s. After 2008's Pretty Odd., the band lost bassist Jon Walker and guitarist Ryan Ross. These guys weren't just disposable pretty boys with guitars either. Ross wrote a majority of the songs in the band's early days and was responsible for the bulk of their last record. So with this new single "New Perspective," fans were wondering: is Panic Panic without half the band?

Upon its release, all the fans knew Panic would be just fine. This cut from the movie Jennifer's Body has a slightly Beatles vibe with its poppy chord progression and breezy chorus. The lyrics tend to be a bit more sarcastic and sexually charged than usual, but the new direction was welcome nonetheless.

The band would continue down the road in this more pop-centric direction with albums like Death of a Bachelor and Pray for the Wicked. But this song serves as the perfect bridge between old and new Panic (a new perspective indeed). At the end of the day, this single may not fit that well on an album, but it remains absolute ecstasy for anyone with two ears.
