10 Greatest Anti-Love Songs In Rock Music History
3. Go Your Own Way - Fleetwood Mac
Throughout rock history, you couldn't find a better spokes-person for broken relationships than anyone in Fleetwood Mac. After the crossover success of their pop classic Rumours, everyone started to pour over the lyrics about every member's romances that had gone incredibly sour. Though Steve Nicks managed to walk away with hit songs like Dreams, things were getting a little salty for Lindsey Buckingham on Go Your Own Way.
Since Stevie and Lindsey were mid breakup during the making of the album, Buckingham intentionally hid the lyrics from her so she wouldn't get upset when he first brought the song to the band. From his perspective though, Lindsey sounds like he wanted to save the relationship, saying that he would give Stevie his world if she wanted him to. Then things start to take a turn as you read on.
Sure, things may have turned around a little bit, but Lindsey starts going a little bit out of line when he thinks that "shacking up's all you want to do." This may be one of the catchiest songs to come from Rumours at the time, but this isn't the kind of thing that you should look for to serenade your lover around the fire any time soon. If anything, you better just hope that your old flame doesn't slap you whenever you play this track.
