10 Greatest Anti-Love Songs In Rock Music History

2. Mr. Brightside - The Killers

Even with almost 2 decades under its belt, there's still no stopping the power behind Mr. Brightside. Taking the synth rock approach and bringing in a lot of melodrama, The Killers created something truly magical with this melody, with Brandon Flowers showing off his brilliant vocal chops at every turn. And why wouldn't a song like this resonate with so many people? If you take Brandon's word, this feels like the ultimate betrayal.

As much as he might like to claim that he's doing just fine, this is every ex's worst nightmare: seeing your ex actually doing well without you. Once the rest of the song plays out, you can practically see Flowers dreaming up every worst case scenario for himself, from him trying to convince himself that it was just a kiss between with this new man to eventually imagining his old flame having sex with him.

If the song is all about jealousy though, you wouldn't know if for the delivery. With Brandon singing his heart out and things getting more and more happy as the songs plays on, it's almost like the music is trying to convince him to either move on with his life or go after her. Given the way the song ends though, who knows? Maybe Brandon is still waiting to go after her to this very day.
