10 Greatest Corey Taylor Vocal Performances

2. People = Shit - Iowa

At the turn of the century, many metal fans were wondering where Slipknot could go following their massive debut. Given that the band seemed to take off after their tour of Ozzfest, many were wondering if their rapid rise was just a fluke. Once the first track of Iowa kicked in though, the band came roaring back even stronger than before.

After an initial scream from DJ Sid Wilson, "People = s**t" instantly became one of the most savage songs the band had ever produced. While the more radio-friendly Slipknot balanced melody and screaming pretty tastefully, this track has everything dialed up to 10, with Corey on full scream mode from start to finish. Even getting help from Chris Fehn and Clown in places, this entire track sounds like Corey is about to rip through your speakers and personally beat the hell out of you.

Even when the intensity is brought down before the final chorus, Corey's solo scream before the rest of the band kicks in is one of the most epic moments that has ever come from Slipknot's catalog. This song has enough rough edges to put your entire mind through a meatgrinder, but even when it's over, you're going to want to take that ride over and over again.
