10 Greatest Diss Tracks In Rock History

6. Big Dumb Sex - Soundgarden

It's no secret that grunge bands didn't really have too many kind words to say about hair metal. Given that the arrival of Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit jettisoned any other traces of the glam rock seen off the map, you could tell that these guys weren't necessarily listening to stuff like Poison or Guns N Roses in their downtime. If you thought for a second that these guys were sunshine and roses, Big Dumb Sex is pretty much a confirmation of that grungey hatred.

Coming off of Soundgarden's second album Louder Than Love, this track is basically a pisstake that the band was toying with in between the studio sessions. Though songs like Ugly Truth have held up as great over the years, this tune gets really satirica, as Cornell does his best impression of what the typical glam rock frontman is supposed to be. Since most of the glam rock songs also had to do with sex at this stage, Cornell doesn't even try to mask his satire by having the chorus being nothing but one expletive repeated over and over again.

What makes this even more interesting is when you consider that this came out before grunge really hit it big, as if these punk-ass underground kids are trying to throw shade at the rock giants taking the world by storm. Little did we all know that these same punk-ass kids would be leading the charge just a few months later.
