10 Greatest Eminem Diss Tracks
6. The Warning
Early on in his career, Eminem claimed to have a brief relationship with renowned singer Mariah Carey, but after she dismissed his claims, the rapper went on the warpath, calling the singer out on several songs before releasing "Bagpipes from Baghdad," which attacked Mariah, her drinking habits and her then-husband Nick Cannon.
Mariah released the song "Obsessed," which she claims wasn't about the rapper (the video begs to differ), and so Eminem went all-out on "The Warning," a three-minute freestyle in which he calls out Mariah for lying about their relationship, releases audio footage of their phone calls, and insults Nick Cannon for previously threatening him.
What makes "The Warning" such a scathing, brutal track is how openly Eminem mocks himself, rapping about his own dirty laundry to hammer home the fact he has no issue calling people out for disrespecting him. It's a frantic, lyrically awesome track, and remains to date an acknowledged fan favourite.
Best line: "Nick...you think I'm scared of you?/you wanna ruin my career you better get one."
