10 Greatest Final Rock Music Albums Of The 2000s

8. Long Road Out Of Eden - Eagles

During a political benefit concert in California in 1980, Eagles members Glenn Frey and Don Felder got into a massive argument on stage and threatened to beat each other up once the show was over to the bemusement and concern of everyone in the audience.

The so-called "Long Night at Wrong Beach" was the final nail in the coffin for the Southern rock giants, who split for good after a prolonged period of animosity, never to return again... until they did.

Eagles took flight once again in 1994, with both Frey and Felder in the line-up, returning to the charts with a live album called Hell Freezes Over. 13 years later (and 28 years after their last studio album), the band put out their first ever double LP, Long Road Out of Eden.

Though not their finest work, it contained some great songs in the Eagles' own imitable soft-rock style. It went seven-times platinum in the US and sent the lads back to the number one spot.

With the deaths of Frey in 2016 and original bassist Randy Meisner in 2023, it seems like this Long Road has reached its end.
