10 Greatest Fleetwood Mac Albums
2. Fleetwood Mac (1975)
Sometimes known as 'The White Album' perhaps to help distinguish it against the very first album in Mac's arsenal, Fleetwood Mac was released in July 1975 and, much like its namesake in 1968, represents a crucial dawn for the group.
Following the departure of Bob Welch, The White Album marks the debut of Lindsey Buckingham on guitar and Stevie Nicks as a vocalist, in what would turn out to be the most commercially successful period for the band.
Fleetwood Mac features plenty of tunes that would go onto become some of the most famous the group have produced, with the likes of 'Over My Head', 'Say You Love Me' and 'Rhiannon' all reaching at least the top eleven in the charts and fuelling the album's rise to the summit of US Billboard 200.
But whilst the album might be regarded as the start of the commercial golden age for the band and the debuts of Buckingham and Nicks, much of the album had been written before their involvement. Five of the songs, including 'Warm Ways', 'Over My Head' and 'Say You Love Me', were credited to Christine McVie, for example.
