10 Greatest Garage Rock Music Albums Of The 2010s

9. Grinderman 2 - Grinderman

In 2006, Nick Cave did an extremely Nick Cave thing.

He formed a side project entirely comprised of members of his existing band.

Sure Nick, you do you.

Grinderman was born out of a desire for Cave to escape the pressures of his work with The Bad Seeds. Cave, who didn't play guitar very often, was intrigued by the raw sound of his new material and wanted a chance to show it to the world.

Their first album, which was self-titled, got rave reviews across the board. Unfortunately, that came out in 2007.

Not wanting to miss out on the chance to be on this list, Cave rounded up Grinderman three years later and said "Let's do it again."

Grinderman 2 (what an inventive name) was also extremely well-received, with critics pointing out that it sounded more polished than its predecessor whilst still retaining its garage feel.

Musicians like Nick Cave are always looking for ways to shake up their musical formula and he stumbled upon something special when Grinderman came along.

Both of their albums are a real treat and let's hope that we get another one some time soon.
