10 Greatest Garage Rock Music Albums Of The 2010s

8. MCII - Mikal Cronin

Michael "Mikal" Cronin is one of those people that has been in tonnes of bands over the years, including several that will feature later on in this rundown.

As a solo artist, Cronin has released four studio albums, all of which came out in the 2010s. Of that quadrangle, the best is his second outing, 2013's MCII.

The album is all over the place in the best way possible. Cronin comes across as frantic in both his playing style and his lyrics, leaving listeners wondering just where he'll go next.

This creates a sense of vulnerability around the artist; an aura of a man in limbo with no idea what his next move should be. In other words, basically anyone in their 20s.

At just ten songs long and with a runtime of under 40 minutes, MCII absolutely flies by. Cronin's lowkey vocals and pounding guitar work also help this record go down smooth, as you'll be jamming along and having an existential crisis all at once.

Cronin never quite hit these heights again in his solo work, but when you've got an album this good under your belt, who really cares?
