10 Greatest Garage Rock Music Albums Of The 2010s

4. Need To Feel Your Love - Sheer Mag

One thing we haven't touched on thus far is the world of disco-infused garage rock songs.

That's mainly because that genre belongs almost entirely to Sheer Mag and their debut album from 2016.

The band style themselves as punks, but their music is tinged with a irrefutable funky charm. Singer Christina Halladay's vocals are rough and melodic all at once, meaning that Sheer Mag sound like no one else out there.

Need to Feel Your Love runs the gamut of music in a way few other records of any genre can match. It's got elements of traditional hard rock that sit right alongside funk, folk, blues, and soul.

Basically, if you like a style of music, chances are Sheer Mag will have you covered.

Critics latched on to everything about this album; its progressive themes; its stunning production values; its balls-to-the-wall confidence. It ranked extremely highly in many year-end lists and still stands up as one of the best debut rock releases of the entire decade.

The group's second album, A Distant Call, is also a delight, but it's impossible to ignore the innovation and inginuity of the record that started it all.
