10 Greatest Hair Metal Songs

8. I Wanna Rock - Twisted Sister

Most of the greatest hair metal out there normally had to come from Los Angeles in some form or another. Since the cradle of everything was the Sunset Strip, you weren't really going to go anywhere if you were out in the middle of Ohio or anything. And then you have the self-proclaimed "bikers in drag" rocking the world all the way from New York.

Although most people like to point out Twisted Sister as the moment where everything got a little too cartoony, there's absolutely nothing wrong with a song like I Wanna Rock, with a singalong chorus that could go toe to toe with Queen's greatest hits in an arena setting. This isn't something you can just play while you're reading either. No, this song has one volume and one volume only, and that is as loud as possible in front of the largest crowd you can.

Hell, even the video for this song has gone down in legend, almost playing up the band's looks to Looney Tune proportions by throwing the teacher all around the school. Outside of this and We're Not Gonna Take It, the Sisters never troubled the charts all that often. Which is a shame considering that this stuff is among the god tier of glam rock.
