10 Greatest Hard Rock Frontmen Of All Time
7. Corey Taylor - Slipknot
Enough with these damn old dogs...where's the guys from the modern age? I mean, even with all of the great frontmen who rocked us back in the day, haven't the new school learned anything from the legends of the '70s and '80s? Yes, there is a future for the new frontmen...and Corey Taylor has been at the forefront for years.
Whether it be in Stone Sour or with Slipknot, Taylor's trademark scream and charisma has whipped plenty of audiences into frenzies in his time. Whereas Slipknot is more about the collective mindset of 9 men onstage thrashing the place to the ground, Stone Sour gives Corey the opportunity to settle into the traditional rock frontman role, where he croons and leads singalongs whenever he comes onstage. That's not to discount Slipknot though, where Corey first learned his trade.
Arriving on the nu metal scene like a bolt of lightning, Taylor cultivated absolute mayhem whenever he donned his trademark mask, making for some of the most unreal mosh pits ever made. Aside from just losing his mind delivering these songs, any man who can make an audience erupt the way Maggots do every time these guys play Spit it Out is worthy of inclusion all on its own. Whereas most nu metal acts got by on just their heavy riffs and dark lyrics, Corey Taylor is truly the ringleader of Slipknot's twisted metallic circus.
