10 Greatest INXS Songs Of All Time

8. Mystify

Possible the most underrated song in the band's history, this super catchy rock anthem is another example of the Hutchence/Andrew Farriss writing combo in peak form. The music video brilliantly illustrates the chemistry present between the two songwriters, effortlessly combining their music and lyric writing skills to make writing a hit tune look ludicrously simple.

The opening verse is super smooth, Andrew Farriss' keyboards creating a catchy beat as Hutchence grooves away in the background. Hutchence then brings a poignant touch to the chorus, before Tim Farriss and Pengilly bring the song roaring to life with an explosion of guitar epicness. The song also contains some of Hutchence's most poetic lyrics, vividly bringing his romantic needs alive.

The third track on Kick's B Side, the song remarkably wasn't even released as a single in Australia, but was a moderate chart performer in the UK and US. Had the song been on any other album, then one suspects it would have been a chart topper and rightfully revered as one of INXS' great tracks.
