10 Greatest Masked Bands In Rock History

8. Hevisaurus

Hevisaurus are a Finnish metal band aimed at children.

That's it. That's the whole description. Do you really need any more than that?

Fine.

Mirka Rantanen, the band's drummer, came up with the idea after attending a children's music concert with his own kids. Obviously he was so bored by the 14th rendition of Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush that he felt like he needed to act.

After finding some fellow nutters to join him on this venture, Rantanen transformed himself and his friends into Hevisaurus... by dressing up as dinosaurs.

The different members all play different characters, represented as cuddly, non-threatening prehistoric lizards.

There's Milli Pilli the triceratops on keys, Muffi Puffi the stegosaurus on bass, and leading from the front is... Mr. Hevisaurus.

Did they run out of funny names or something?

The band are very popular in their homeland and even had a movie made about them in 2015.

Although they may seem like a bad acid dream come to life, Hevisaurus are so much fun and so creative in their output.

Also, their music is incredibly wholesome; teaching and entertaining kids through the power of metal? That's great.
