10 Greatest Metal Albums Of The 1980’s
5. Metallica – Kill ‘Em All
Metallica have ruled the world of metal for decades, and this is where it all began, the album that pushed thrash metal into the mainstream.
There is not a single bad song on Kill 'Em All, but Seek And Destroy, The Four Horseman, Hit The Lights, and the insanely underrated Jump In The Fire are some of the best it has to offer. Each one is a master class in the art of thrash.
Above all else though, the album’s top attraction is (Anesthesia) – Pulling Teeth, a bass solo performed by the legendary Cliff Burton that would put the majority of bassists to shame.
It is true that former guitarist Dave Mustaine wrote most of the record, and it is undeniable that his influence was a huge stepping stone for the band, but it was the creative variations added by James, Kirk, Lars, and Cliff that truly made this one of the best metal albums ever recorded.
