10 Greatest Metal Albums Of The 1980’s

6. Helloween – Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part II

In the late 1980’s, German power metal giants Helloween released the greatest two-part album in the history of metal with Keeper Of The Seven Keys Parts I & II.

Part I is indeed an excellent album, but Part II was the album that turned Helloween into true power metal royalty. The album was a fantastic seller, and it gained the band a great deal of commercial success in Europe, allowing them to acquire top ten charting in Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, and their native Germany.

Michael Kiske’s vocal tones are enchanting, especially when coupled with the bluesy, melodic guitar playing of Kai Hansen, and Michael Weikath, whose keyboard playing is also top notch.

This is also the album best known for housing the bands most famous song, I Want Out, which has been covered by a great many bands since it’s release, and it's one of the albums top highlights, along with the organ solo on the song Dr Stein, which is a thing of beauty.
