10 Greatest Rock Bands With More Than Two Guitarists
7. Tedeschi Trucks Band
If you like bands with lots of members, then how does a 12-piece bluesy-rocky-Americanay group from Florida sound?
Anchored by married couple Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, the Tedeschi Trucks Band came together when the two partners merged their existing groups to form one big happy family. The pair do have children, which makes you wonder how they feel about competing for attention with almost a dozen fully grown adults.
Though they have released five studio albums, one of which won a Grammy in 2012, it's the band's live shows that are their main selling point, as this massive conglomeration of talent will often put on spectacular jams on stage, extending their songs by several minutes as the crowd goes wild.
Both Susan and Derek play guitar, alternating between lead and rhythm with Trucks also demonstrating his skill with a slide. With them since the beginning has been Mike Mattison, who provides acoustic guitar as well as harmonising vocals.
Mattison is also a main songwriter for the band, so perhaps he should get more credit than he does. Although, "Tedeschi Trucks Mattison Band" would sound a little silly.
