10 Greatest Rock Bands With More Than Two Guitarists
6. Bad Religion
Although most punk bands are as concerned with melody as a crocodile is concerned with a walnut salad, LA unit Bad Religion have consistently brought structure to an otherwise messy art form.
Known for their three-part harmonies, effectively making them the punk version of the Bee Gees, Bad Religion helped lead the genre's comeback in the 1990s, paving the way for the likes of Green Day and The Offspring to rake in the dough later in the decade. As for their own music, they wouldn't become a top 20 charting act until 2013, which goes to show just how far ahead of their time they were.
The only consistent member of Bad Religion has been singer Greg Graffin, as the other positions in the band have all operated a revolving door policy.
The band only had one guitarist, Brett Gurewitz, to start with, who was actually replaced by Greg Hetson in 1984, only to re-join in 1988. In 1994, guitarist Brian Baker came aboard, brining the total up to three for the first time. If that wasn't confusing enough, Hetson left in 2013, replaced by The Cult's former axeman, Mike Dimkich.
