10 Greatest Rock Music Album Covers Of The 1980s

9. Nothing’s Shocking - Jane’s Addiction

Speaking of the 90s, Jane's Addiction were a band who rose to the top of their game in that particular decade.

An early fixture of the alternative rock scene, the band paved the way for the megastars of the mid-to-late 90s and are still very much idolised to this very day.

Even though they were a fixture of the following decade, the group put out their first album in 1988. Nothing's Shocking didn't set the world on fire, but it had a reasonably successful single in Jane Says.

It also gave everyone a lesson in irony, as its cover art was one of the most shocking of the year.

The cover is a black and white image of two naked women, conjoined at the shoulder and hip, with their heads on fire. It was designed by vocalist Perry Farrell, who says that the vision came to him in a dream.

He needs to lay off the cheese before bedtime.

Nothing's Shocking is another example of how ahead of the curve Jane's Addiction were.

A cover like this would have been par for the course in the 90s, but in the 80s?

It's amazing they weren't burnt as witches.
