10 Greatest Shows In Rock History

7. Slipknot at Download

Anyone going to see Slipknot pretty much knows what to expect. For any show of this intensity, there isn't a chance that you're coming out of the pit unscathed, either with a bruise or a bloody nose to sport after the final notes ring out. While every one of these shows is special, the most intense moment in the Knot's career has to have been their visit to Download.

Towards the end of the set, it's become customary for Corey Taylor to create one of the biggest pits in the world during the breakdown of Spit It Out. But even he had to take in the moment when he commanded everyone to get down on the ground before he got into it. Just watching this, you can feel the tension in the air as the Maggots prepare to absolutely explode on Taylor's command.

Seeing as this was one of the last shows with Paul Gray in the band, it's comforting to know that one of his final performances was on a high note. By the time Corey signals to Joey to bring it home, his instruction for everyone to jump looks like an ocean of people erupting in the middle of this field. It's intense as hell...but you're going to feel much better after having gone through it.
