10 Greatest Shows In Rock History

6. Oasis at Knebworth

The early '90s weren't really the greatest time to put on a spectacle on stage. Even with the '80s being the decade of excess both onstage and off, the era of alternative stripped things back in the venues as well, with Nirvana and Pearl Jam never really feeling comfortable playing to big crowds in their prime. Once the mantle of grunge came and went though, the era of Britpop reached its apex with one of the greatest shows of the decade.

Although you could never call what Oasis did all that flashy on the live stage, the aura behind their star power made Knebworth one of the biggest shows in British history, with a significant percentage of the British population trying to get tickets up until the last days. Even for just a stadium show, both Liam and Noel have said that there was something special in the air that night, with everyone making history as they sung their hearts out to Champagne Supernova and The Masterplan.

While Oasis would go on to massive success after this as well, this is where they reached a certain level of perfection that not many people are going to be able to top. Despite all of the hatred that he may have for his brother, Liam still defends that he would kill just to play to that kind of crowd one more time.
