10 Hard Rock Albums That Divided The Fanbase

9. Jugulator - Judas Priest

Whenever you talk about heavy music, Judas Priest is held in high regard as one of the trailblazers of metal. It almost feels like an unwritten law that every metalhead has to put in a certain amount of hours listening to Priest. The band's discography reads like a must-hear list for metal, but things start to get spotty once Rob Halford left the group.

More than just a singer, Halford was the Metal God who captivated the audience with his amazing range and magnetic stage presence. The transition to a new singer seemed nearly impossible, but the addition of Tim "Ripper" Owens seemed promising given his equally powerful shout. However, when it came time to release their first post-Halford effort Jugulator, the band were looked at as a shell of themselves.

Though the times were different for the band, the album stills hold up as a decent metal effort even without Halford in the fold. The riffs from Glenn Tipton and KK Downing are as amazing as ever, and Owens definitely brings his own unique spin to the band by pushing the band forward while also interpreting the band's earlier material. There may be loyal members of the Priest congregation who love this record, but most fans decided to leave the metal gods behind until Halford eventually returned.
