10 Hard Rock Bands That Should Be In The Hall Of Fame (But Aren't)

6. Opeth

The Hall of Fame is far from perfect. It's in Ohio for a start.

It's also severely underrepresented when it comes to important bands from outside of North America or the UK. Outside of ABBA, there aren't really any other inductees that fit that description.

And ABBA being in there is dubious enough as it is.

With so many possibilities for this entry, we were never going to pick one that satisfied everyone. So, we thought we'd go as extreme as possible and talk about a significant presence in the history of Swedish death metal.

Opeth put their first album out in 1995 and have since become one of the biggest names in metal anywhere in the world. Bringing together singer Mikael Ã…kerfeldt's love of prog and glam metal, the band's style is epic in length, guttural in sound, and fearsome in its presentation.

Inducting such a unique act would show that the Hall of Fame is open to everybody. Although, if they were to give a performance at the ceremony, the older attendees might have to be moved out of the auditorium.

There would be a lot of heart attacks if they stayed.
