10 Hard Rock Bands That Should Be In The Hall Of Fame (But Aren't)

5. Alice In Chains

When it comes to grunge music, conventional wisdom is that the "Big Four" bands of the genre are Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains.

Nirvana were inducted in 2014 and Pearl Jam in 2017. Soundgarden are on the nominees list for 2023, which leaves one band with zero Hall of Fame presence whatsoever.

Alice in Chains released their debut album Facelift in 1990, which contained the absolutely monstrous Man in a Box. Seriously, that opening riff is enough to get them nominated all on its own.

The band continued to find success throughout the 90s, but suffered a significant loss when lead singer Layne Staley died in 2002. They carried on though and are still around today with most of their original members.

For their contributions to such a global movement, their own impressive discography, and their commitment to music in the face of tragedy, Alice in Chains are long overdue for even a glance from the Hall, let alone an induction.

The clay figures from the I Stay Away video are there, so just take the next logical step and put the entire band in.

Although maybe don't keep them behind glass.
