10 Hard Rock Bands That Should Be In The Hall Of Fame (But Aren't)

2. Iron Maiden

Yes, we know that Iron Maiden are on the shortlist for the Hall of Fame in 2023 and there's a very strong chance that this could be their year.

However, how could you possibly argue that it's anything less than an international incident that these guys aren't already in there?

Their first album was released in 1980, which means that they've been eligible for induction since 2005. When did they get their first nomination? 2021! That's insanity!

The reason we haven't really touched on the band's music yet is because we don't really need to - it's Iron Maiden, for crying out loud!

Run to the Hills, The Number of the Beast, The Trooper, Can I Play with Madness?, Fear of the Dark. We could just sit here and name singles and you'd get the idea of how important this band are to the metal genre.

All of this without even mentioning their legendary stage shows and iconography. If there was a mascot section of the Hall of Fame, Eddie would be there in the very first class.

Hopefully 2023 is the year that rectifies this decades-long mistake, because if it doesn't, there'll be hell to pay.
