10 Hard Rock Bands Who Kept The Same Lineup

7. Motley Crue

Hair metal seems to be looked at as one of the goofier incarnations that the world of hard rock has ever seen. With bands popping up left and right looking like David Bowie wannabes and playing pop friendly ballads, this was not what your average metalhead really anticipated. There was a lot of boring party bands to go around, but Motley Crue stood apart as one of the most elaborate acts in the genre.

From the time that they first started, every member brought a distinctive edge to the band's sound, with the bark of singer Vince Neil leading the charge. While the rhythm section of Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx were known as some of the masterminds behind the band, guitarist Mick Mars was one of the most overlooked guitarists of the decade, providing a bluesy counterbalance to the band's usual pop tunes.

That's not to say the band didn't have their fair share of ups and downs, with Vince Neil being temporarily replaced with John Corabi and Tommy Lee being replaced by Samantha Malone on different occasions. However, the only time the band's sound becomes magical is when all four members come together to make their signature brand of decadent rock and roll. Sure, they may fight like brothers, but if the Crue is not together as one, musical cracks will always appear.
