10 Hard Rock Bands Who Kept The Same Lineup

2. Aerosmith

As the British Invasion still had a firm hold on the rock scene, Aerosmith lobbed the ball right back at the UK with their unique brand of bluesy riffage. Across the '70s, the band laid claim to the hard rock throne with songs that had just the right balance of melody and grit to make believers out of pretty much anybody. There have been some dips along the way, but these guys have always held together as one of rock's original street gangs.

Steven Tyler is obviously the most identifiable of the bunch, with his undeniable charisma and feral shriek across the band's songs, but Joe Perry has always been right by his side, delivering leads that were Keith Richards by way of James Brown. Though many bands could make their millions off of that duo alone, the self proclaimed "Least Interesting Three" are still just as important.

While Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer keep everything intact with some of the most solid funk rhythms, Brad Whitford is the real unsung hero of the band, with leads on tracks like "One Way Street" being almost on Jeff Beck's level. Tensions did end up causing fractures in the early '80s, but the original lineup came back together after the thought of going on proved to be impossible. It's debatable whether or not the band are still at the top of their game, but Aerosmith are still flying the flag as one of the most enduring rock bands of all time.
