10 Hard Rock Bands Who Made 3 Great Albums In A Row
9. AC/DC
Of course AC/DC are on here.
Although the band have many great albums in their discography, they had a real sweet run with 1978s Powerage, 1979s Highway to Hell and 1980s Back in Black. If you ask most people what their favourite AC/DC record is, you’re likely to hear one of those three mentioned, they’re some of the biggest and best selling albums in the history of music. It’s outstanding that the band released them in such quick succession: they were literally shitting out hits.
Over the years it has become clear that AC/DC have a formula when it comes to songwriting, and although that may seem like an insult, it has birthed some legendary rock songs. AC/DC make no nonsense straight up hard rock music and these three albums are fierce, rawkus and live wire. Powerage is the electrified fan favourite, Highway to Hell sanded down the rougher edges to pure rock’n’roll beauty and Back in Black took them to ultimate success.
Formula or no formula, these albums are essential staples of heavy music.
