10 Hard Rock Bands Who Made 5 Great Albums In A Row

7. Tool

Ahh, the illustrious Tool: four unbelievable musicians who make ten minute progressive epics feel like a three minute pop song. They’ve only got five albums, but those five albums have more depth than almost every band on this list could ever hope to achieve. Everything with Tool is a meticulous treasure trove of an experience full of dynamism and excellent hard-rock jams.

Starting the excellent five album run was the band's debut full length, Undertow (1993). This dark, industrial record would yield two of their most popular singles: Sober and Prison Sex, which have since become massive alt-rock mainstays. Here the band were young artists, just three years from writing their magnum opus.

Next was Ænima (1996), the unpredictable, unconventional, triumphant masterpiece of an album: they pushed every musical boundary and wrote a dense, perfect composition. Lateralus (2001) and 10,000 Days (2006) followed to similar acclaim before the band made us wait an agonising 13 years for 2019s Fear Inoculum.

You can’t really sum up a four-piece of musical visionaries and their five perfect landscape changing unorthodox classics in such few words however the music speaks for itself and it’s will continue to forever.
