10 Hard Rock Bands Who Made 5 Great Albums In A Row
6. AC/DC
One of the most famous bands in the entire world and a group of musicians that have created a formula and stuck to it with great result, AC/DC are the world’s most consistently rockin’, rawkus hard rock act. After 16 studio albums and almost 50 years in the game, you know what you’re gonna get with this Australian four-piece and it’s good fun.
Here’s the thing with AC/DC though… they actually hit a near perfect 6 album streak in the run of Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap (1976), Let There Be Rock (1977), Powerage (1978), Highway to Hell (1979), Back in Black (1980) and For Those About to Rock We Salute You (1981). Knocking out one album a year like it was nothing and releasing many of rock’s most iconic hits, AC/DC did what would be impossible now and churned out hit factories full of loud, abrasive, pure rock and roll.
While there’s little variation between the sounds of these albums, by Back In Black, the band had perfected their ability to write riff-fueled hard rock with chorus to rival the biggest pop song around. The album was written as a tribute to the late Bon Scott who fronted AC/DC through their other classic records.
The world of hard-rock as we know it wouldn’t exist without AC/DC, and for that we salute them.
