10 Hard Rock Bands With KILLER Live Shows

2. Slipknot

Whenever putting together a great rock show, some wildness is to be expected. As opposed to the fun-filled flavors of pop or the slowburns in R&B, the hard rock stage show is something that has to have at least a little bit of danger involved in its construction. At the same time, no one could have expected a band like Slipknot to fly off the hinges quite like this.

Even though the circle pits and moshing might seem like a daunting task for a beginner metalhead, this is one of the few times where the more dangerous stuff is happening to the people on stage.

From one song to the next, you never know what's going to happen, with pyro going off left and right, Clown wielding a baseball bat, DJ Sid Wilson jumping into the crowd, or the drum turns from Joey Jordison and/or Max Weinberg. However, the best part of the night always comes down to Spit it Out, where Corey Taylor turns the entire crowd into a mosh pit at the halfway mark.

The members themselves have also not minced words about the injuries they have endured while playing their set, from Corey Taylor getting set on fire to Sid Wilson breaking both of his ankles on the first night of a tour. Slipknot may have to suffer for their art from time to time, but if it were up to them, if you didn't put this kind of energy into your performance, than what's the point?
