10 Hard Rock Cover Songs That Are Better Than The Original

6. Feeling Good - Muse

Muse have been one of the most eclectic bands to come out of the turn of the century. Long separated from the Britpop and grunge movements of the '90s, the space age sound that this power trio cultivated was enough to intrigue even the most casual of rock fans. Though Matt Bellamy contributed plenty of mind-bending songs on his own, the real mystery of these guys can be summed up on their cover of Feeling Good.

A regular in the world of big band music, this jazzy number takes on a whole new character when Bellamy gets his hands on it. Set to an off-kilter piano melody, Bellamy's voice shakes the very essence out of every note he sings, almost as if he himself is unsure of how he feels in the verses. It's when you hear the bullhorn-affected vocals that you realize that this song may be about something entirely different.

Rather than the lust for life of the original, the new dawn Bellamy is talking about may as well be taking place after nuclear extinction, with only the survivors feeling good that they can now build the next civilization as we know it. So next time you skip by this to get to other Muse tunes, have a listen and see the dreadful future that Muse implants in you brain.
