10 Hard Rock & Metal Bands Who Have NEVER Changed Lineups

4. Muse

Muse tend to get somewhat of a raw deal in the world of mainstream rock and roll. For all of the glorious music they have delivered over the years, there's always that subset of rock fans who refuse to acknowledge them as anything more than just a re-run of Radiohead. While the similarities are certainly there in places, not even Thom Yorke could have come with stuff like this.

Being birthed in the late '90s, Matthew Bellamy has been steering the ship for Muse pretty prominently throughout the years, oftentimes writing the majority of the lyrics and melodies to every track. However, one frontman does not equate to a fantastic band, and Muse definitely have the chops to back it up in their rhythm section. Ever since the beginning, Chris Wolstenholme's bass work has made for some of the beefiest lines in rock history like Hysteria and Time is Running Out, despite admitting to not picking up a bass until a few days before joining the band.

On the other hand, Dominic Howard's pristine work behind the kit has really given Muse their arena rock power over the past decades, from making simplistic grooves that sound amazing in stadiums to the greatest prog rock runs in recent memory. Though Muse have gone through their lion's share of genre switchups over the years, that hasn't diminished these guys from staying the course as one of the greatest power trios in modern music.
