10 Hard Rock & Metal Bands With No Original Members Left

2. The Misfits

At the end of the '70s, the rock world really needed something like punk to wake us all up. As most of the rockstars of old started to get a little too smug for their own good, acts like the Ramones and the Clash were delivering a crash course in getting to the point, with songs that hit with as much punch as a freight train within the span of a few minutes.

There was bound to be something even darker coming up behind it.

Formed in the late '70s, the Misfits were a much different animal than their contemporaries, with songs that incorporated horror themes into every single one of the lyrics. Though the original version of the band had Glenn Danzig out in front, time has proved to not be on these shock rockers' sides. With Glenn departing to form Samhain and eventually his namesake solo band, most of the cast has been a revolving door, with everyone from Marky Ramone to Slayer's Dave Lombardo serving time in the lineup.

While there are people like Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein and Jerry Only who are still the faces of the band, they were not in the trenches with the group either, as Only was brought in with Glenn's insistence shortly after taking up the bass. Though there might not be too much of a tonal shift between Die Die My Darling and Dig Up Her Bones respectively, just remember that only the name has stayed the same.
