10 Hard Rock Music Artists Who Released Two Great Albums In 2 Consecutive Years
1. AC/DC - Highway To Hell & Back In Black
AC/DC released at least one album a year from 1975 to 1981. Angus Young's leg must have been massive from all that hopping around one stage.
The most impressive time this happened is also the one tinged with the most sadness, as it involves the death of the band's original lead singer.
Bon Scott was just 33 years old when he passed away in early 1980. He was revelling in the success of the band's Highway to Hell album, which had come out the year before, when a night of drinking turned out to be his last.
The rest of the group almost called it quits, but continued on with the blessing of Scott's family. New singer Brian Johnson was brought into the fold and, just five months after Scott's death, they gave the world Back in Black.
It would go on to sell an estimated 50 million copies.
Both Highway to Hell and Back in Black are fantastic for very different reasons. They offer an insight into the darkest period of AC/DC's history; one that they somehow managed to come through and come through in style.
