10 Hard Rock Music Artists Who Released Two Great Albums In 2 Consecutive Years

2. Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin III & Led Zeppelin IV

It wouldn't be until 1973's Houses of the Holy that Led Zeppelin decided to call their albums by actual names. For their first four releases, everyone had to deal with the name of the band followed by a Roman numeral.

Thanks a lot, guys!

We forgive them though, because those albums are all bangers.

The first two came out in the same year, which must have been something to behold. Led Zep then slowed things down a bit, only releasing two albums in the next two years.

What a bunch of slackers!

Led Zeppelin III saw the light of day in October 1970 and blew everyone's socks off with its opening track, Immigrant Song. Not a bad way to start an album.

Led Zeppelin IV got a November 1971 release and also kicked off in style. The opening track of Black Dog then fed seamlessly into Rock and Roll, which was followed by The Battle of Evermore, which was followed by Stairway to Heaven.

And that was just side one!

When they were in their prime, nobody could even come close to what Led Zeppelin were doing. Even if their naming conventions sucked.
