10 Hard Rock Music Artists Who Released Two Great Albums In 2 Consecutive Years

6. Thin Lizzy - Jailbreak & Bad Reputation

If you're not a diehard Thin Lizzy fan, chances are you'll only know maybe two or three of their songs.

Chances are also that at least two of those songs are on the album Jailbreak.

Released in 1976 as the Irish band's sixth studio release, Jailbreak kicks off with the song... Jailbreak! Who saw that coming?

It's one of the band's biggest-sounding songs and a cracking way to kick off an album. Then, if you flip the record over and play side two, the first thing you'll hear is a little track called The Boys Are Back in Town.

You might have heard of it.

So what was Thin Lizzy's big follow-up to Jailbreak? The album Johnny the Fox, which some people love and some people cannot stand.

It was written by Phil Lynott when he was suffering from hepatitis, so cut him some slack.

Thankfully, Johnny the Fox also came out in 1976. In 1977, the band put out Bad Reputation, which was considered a strong return to form.

Though it doesn't contain any classics, Bad Reputation is still a stonker. It even spawned a top 20 single with Dancing in the Moonlight.

No, not that one.
