10 Hard Rock Music Artists Who Released Two Great Albums In 2 Consecutive Years
4. Megadeth - Killing Is My Business… And Business Is Good! & Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying?
Megadeth were definitely out to break the record for "Most Characters Used In The Title Of Two Albums" with these meaty releases.
The first, Killing Is My Business… And Business Is Good!, came two years after lead singer Dave Mustaine was fired as the original lead guitarist in Metallica.
Not one to take things lying down, Mustaine picked himself up, formed a new band, and put out a truly electric debut record.
Killing etc. etc. is big, brutal, and violent. Mustaine's insane guitar playing and screechy vocals make for a pulse-raising listen, as the rest of the band more than keep up with the ex-Metallica man.
It's incredible that it got made at all, considering that the group spent half of its budget on booze, drugs, and food.
Keen to capitalise on this success, Megadeth released Peace Sells... but Who's Buying? just over a year later. Were they sponsored by an ellipsis company or something?
Peace etc. etc. continued to demonstrate the band's ferocity, veering more into extreme metal to the joy of hardcore fans around the world.
It's unclear how much of the $25,000 recording budget for this one was actually spent on the album.
