10 Hard Rock Music Songs Artists Want You To Forget
3. All In The Family - Korn
One of the biggest calling cards of the '90s was the distinctly immature sense of humor that flooded the rock scene. As much as the era of irony was upon us, there was a lot more smart ass attitude that came with a lot of those alternative bands, almost like these were kids that you hung around with in high school just because you'd get into trouble. When you reach that kind of humor though, you end up falling on the wrong side of tasteful pretty quickly.
Along with the whining that happens in most of these bands, songs like All in the Family are the reason a lot of rock fans turned their back on nu metal. Being one of the cringiest rap battles you will ever hear, this is just a diss rap between Jonathan Davis and Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit, with each of them tearing each other down for not being as cool as the other.
You can excuse some of the dad puns like Durst comparing Davis' band to "Korn on the cob," but it gets pretty hard to defend when you take into account all of the anti-gay subtext, like when they drop the f-slur time and time again and trying to pat themselves on the back for being edgy. This is the kind of thing that may have come off as cool back in the day, but when you listen back to it, it just sounds like these guys are super insecure about themselves.
