10 Hated Bands That Are A Lot Better Than You Think

9. Hanson

The state of rock music really started to hit a sharp decline once the late '90s rolled around. After Nirvana had kickstarted a movement of disaffected youths, the non-staying power of the grunge revolution made way for some of the most sugary pop rock ever to be made by man. For as egregious as the genre got, no one really took the brunt of the blame as much as Hanson.

From the way they dressed to the fact that they were just young kids trying to make a career for themselves, rockers around the world were not having any of it. One listen to a song like MMMBop practically put these kids on par with the Disney Channel stars that would start making waves around the same time. Once they grew up though, there's actually a lot more going on under the hood than most people would ever give them credit for.

While the first few albums were cashing in on their more cutesy attributes, later albums like Underneath actually have some real gems behind them. Instead of just resting on their laurels, these guys really developed a taste for pretty decent pop rock, on the same level as other long forgotten bands like Fountains of Wayne and Matthew Sweet. Though it was basically curtains right after they started growing facial hair, these 3 brothers deserve to have a much better longevity than just being a one hit wonder.
