10 Hilariously Bad Hard Rock Songs

7. Butterfly - Crazy Town

There's a lot of elements of the nu metal genre that we can look back and laugh at now. From the amount of macho posturing to the ridiculous amount of JNCO jeans that were sold in every mall across America, the era of loud white boys with electric guitars did have more than a few embarrassing moments. If you want to get the complete package though, look no further than Butterfly by Crazy Town.

Aside from having one of the least threatening band names in all of rock history, this whole song actually attempts to get emotional by being the equivalent to a nu metal love song. For a genre that was all about pain and letting out your turmoil on yourself and the world, the fact that a band like this would snap on a dime and start talking about how much they love their girlfriends is almost wholesome before you get to the lyrics.

With a lone sample from the Red Hot Chili Peppers as their foundation, frontmen Epic and Shifty Shellshock offer some of the corniest bars of the entire '00s on this song, from comparing their relationships to Sid and Nancy to wanting to do whatever tickles their fancy. Forget jumping the shark...this is the nu metal equivalent of jumping over an entire ocean.
