10 Horrible Hard Rock Songs By Great Artists

1. Can't Stop Partying - Weezer

Weezer were in a bit of a slump during their tenure in the '00s. Though the band's first two albums from the '90s had been heralded as classics of alternative rock, the next few albums from Make Believe to the Red Album saw them experimenting and chasing trends that were waaaay outside of their comfort zone. Nothing ended up being too awful, but how do you strike into the heart of any Weezer fan? Three Words: Weezer meets Weezy.

While the band's album Raditude is known as the weakest effort in their catalog, "Can't Stop Partying" is the exact moment where fans lost it. Most of the record up to this point had just been below average pop rock, but absolutely no one was asking the adorkable guys who played "Buddy Holly" to write a party anthem featuring Lil Wayne.

From the synth driven melody to the processed voice of Rivers Cuomo, this entire song seems like the polar opposite of everything Weezer is supposed to be. For a band trying to change up their sound, the idea of having a song that glorifies alcohol addiction sounds treasonous coming from the band who wrote "Say It Ain't So." Weezer eventually was able to win back their original crowd with Everything Will be Alright in the End, but after these few minutes, they had one hell of a mountain to climb.
