10 Most Horrifically Overplayed Songs In Music History

2. Dancing Queen - ABBA

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFrGuyw1V8s Dancing Queen has been described as the ultimate gay anthem in countless surveys, which has to put it right up there on this list. This ABBA track is a go-to song for karaoke, variety radio and is a must have floor filler that spans across generations. I mean, who doesn't love a bit of ABBA? But for god sake...if I hear Dancing Queen one more time I'm going to jump off the nearest proverbial bridge. The song was released nearly 40 years ago in Sweden and if that doesn't make you feel old, then the fact it was only available on a 7" record should. It topped the chart around the world and continues to sell admirably in the digital world. Even on youtube there are over 30 million views of the music video. In 2009, the song landed at number 8 on a list of the 75 most played songs on British radio. The compilation was released by Phonographic Performance Limited and is the biggest proof of what a force this song has been and it will no doubt continue to be overplayed for years to come. Go on, play it.
