But 2012 was unequivocally the year of Psy and his invisible lassoos that took over the world one Op-Op-Op-Op, Oppa at a time. It is the most watched video on YouTube with over 1 billion views and has pretty much a 2010s equivalent of the Macarena in terms of universal recognition of the dance moves. But our cohleae need a break from the K-Pop scene, especially after Psy was ubiquitous during the last year. Psy went on to perform the song around the world at festivals and at some of the biggest music events in the US. He will release more music, but no one will care. As far as anyone is concerned, Psy is Gangnam Style forever. Sorry mate, just sit back and count your dollars as your killer track is played once again, somewhere in the world.
