10 Huge Rock & Metal Bands Glastonbury Couldn't Handle

5. Megadeth

There is, of course, only one reason why Glastonbury would not be able to handle the American thrash metal band Megadeth and that's because any line-up poster featuring their label must feature: A) Blood. B) Black, and you'll be surprised by how many shades there are. C) Horror movie bad guys, normally Jason (Friday 13th). Okay that may not be the only reason. Megadeth are considered one of the big names in their genre and part of the 'big four' in metal music alongside 2014 headliners Metallica, and have sold over a massive 50 million records since forming in 1983 and they're certainly worthy of playing in front of huge crowds. So why have Glastonbury turned a blind eye to the band that have received several Grammy nominations and pioneered the metal movement? It's been alleged that their music videos contain indecent images, with MTV refusing to air two tracks because they claimed they condoned suicide and in 2001 the Malaysian government cancelled a show because they were concerned about the band's image. Throw into that they've had to travel on bullet-proof vans, booking the band for an audience that are used to Mumford and Sons wouldn't be the best move .
