10 Huge Songs That Bands Refused To Play Live

1. Misery Business - Paramore

Paramore were part of the furniture in the mid-noughties emo revolution, reminding everyone that rock music wasn't just for stinky old men.

Hayley Williams and the other lads nobody cares about brought a unique energy to everything they did, including the 2007 album Riot!

Alongside tracks like Crushcrushcrush and That's What You Get, Riot! contained one of the band's biggest ever tracks Misery Business. Set against the backdrop of a high school drama, the song portrayed Williams as a conniving lover out to get revenge on the woman who used to date her current squeeze.

It's fairly harmless teenage stuff for the most part, but there's one line that became a little harder to swallow as sensibilities changed.

The part where Williams sings "Once a w***e, you're nothing more" doesn't really fly this day and age. This, combined with the perceived sexism of the song as a whole, led the band to retire it from their live shows in 2018.

Whilst a move like this might upset some, it's actually refreshing to see an artist take ownership of their previous work and adapt it for the modern day.

Also, Crushcrushcrush is a way better song, so nobody's even gonna care.
